I will attend Oregon Child Forensic Interview Training IN PERSON on the dates indicated below:
- Monday, May 8th (1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
- Tuesday, May 9th (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
- Wednesday, May 10th (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
- Thursday, May 11th (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
- Friday, May 12th (8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)
I understand I must attend the training in its entirety. Missing 30 minutes or more of training will prohibit me from receiving a certificate of completion, and I will not be eligible for any reimbursement of expenses related to the training from DOJ.
I will conduct two video-recorded practice interviews and participate in practice peer review.
I will make every reasonable effort to notify Oregon Child Abuse Solutions in advance if I cannot attend OCFIT, so my place can be given to someone else on the waitlist.
I will read required materials prior to attending the training.
I will complete a pre- and post- test, and daily quizzes that are built into each training module. The tests and quizzes will be based on the required reading materials and the curriculum. I understand I must earn a score of 85% or better on the post-test to receive a certificate of completion.
I understand I am submitting an application for OCFIT, and that I am not guaranteed acceptance to OCFIT.
I understand that I will be notified of acceptance/waitlist status 5 weeks prior to start.
I understand that I will receive a certificate of completion for completing the training.
I understand that completing OCFIT DOES NOT make me a certified Forensic Interviewer. A Forensic Interviewer must be or have been a law enforcement officer or a DHS Child Welfare worker, or have a master’s degree in a related field and two years of experience working with children, or a bachelor’s degree and four years of experience working with children, and have completed OCFIT.
I understand that completing OCFIT DOES NOT make me a certified Forensic Interviewer. Minimal educational qualifications exist for forensic interviewers employed by, or serving in a voluntary capacity for, Children's Advocacy Centers. These qualifications can be found in Appendix B of the Oregon Interviewing Guidelines 2018 Edition with 2021 Updates, found online at www.oregoncas.org.
I understand that OCAS is a Learning Organization and that participation in data collection activities such as surveys or focus groups is expected as a part of program participation.
I understand that all lectures and training materials provided to participants as part of this training are the intellectual property of Oregon Child Abuse Solutions and may not be copied, distributed, or used for any other purpose outside of this training without written permission.
